Personality:

Demyx just likes fun and music. He’s rather laid back and polite (cheerfully greeting Sora the second time they meet) and can also be a bit clumsy and clueless at times. He’s the most cheerful person of the Organization XIII and doesn’t seem to take his missions too seriously. He doesn’t have much confidence in himself (always claiming they’re sending in the wrong guy) and actually needs cue cards to know what he’s supposed to do. He also dislikes fighting and chooses to run away rather than face Cerberus in the Underworld. Because of this he’s kind of the last resort of Xemnas to send on missions. He is only assigned a mission when most of the members of the organization have been defeated.
However there’s a darker side to him if you push the right buttons. He does lack a heart so he can be menacing when he wants like when he fights Sora and calls him traitor in a menacing tone. His cheerful façade might just be that – something fake since he lacks a heart and therefore is not supposed to feel emotions. However this is very controversial since Axel claims to feel sad when Roxas leaves him.


History:

Demyx is a Nobody – the shell of a strong human that is left behind when the heartless take over his heart. He is number IX of the Organization XIII, also known as The Melodious Nocturne. He is first seen in Hollow Bastion when the Organization first introduce itself to Sora and co although he doesn’t remove his hood. He’s next seen in the Underworld after stealing the Olympus Stone that negated the effects of the Underworld on people. Demyx mistakes Sora for Roxas and asks him to return to the Organization. Of course Sora is totally clueless to who he is and what the hell he’s talking about. This is when Demyx take out his cue card that said ‘use aggression to deliberate his true disposition’. After trying to do so and losing shamefully he begs Sora to come back to the organization before he vanishes.

They meet again during the heartless invasion at Hollow Bastion. Demyx greets the group cheerfully but is only teased back, Sora saying he can’t fight and that he has no heart. After whining about the Organizatiion ‘sending the wrong guy’ and after claiming that they do have a heart he finally loses his patience and in a much menacing tone he calls Sora a traitor and summons his sitar. After a very wet battle where Demyx gives it his all, he finally fades away to nothingness.

Special Abilities: Demyx can summon a sitar that is an instrument as well as a weapon. He can conjure water clones of himself to aid him in battle and can cause gushes of water to erect from the ground. He’s also a master at water spells of course. He’s not very skilled in close range combat.
Worst Nightmare: Fade into nothingness I think? I assume he must also fear the heartless that once tore his heart out.
